Look who's back! We are SO THRILLED to welcome our friend Rolo back to school!
He has taken pride of place in our entrance foyer so that he can be admired by all our guests and visited by the children and staff when they need a quiet moment of reflection.
We are so proud of two of our Year 6 School Council members, who represented BPS at the Children and Youth Council on Friday 20th June.
They prepared and delivered a balanced argument on whether mobile phones should be allowed in school. They were an absolute credit to the school and should be very proud of themselves!
What a packed three days, staying at a youth hostel in the city!
Last half term, our Rocksteady bands performed their first live concert in front of an audience of 300 children, parents and carers: they were EPIC!
In addition to wearing red, dressing silly or wearing our clothes backwards, we had a great time in a staff v children battle.
This included a dance off, over and under, heads and tails toss, a rock/paper/scissor off AND a draw off (you might recognise the model for this). Despite our best efforts, the children were victorious!
Massive congratulations to our handball team... GOLD MEDALLISTS!
The school enjoyed various science-related activities and experiments last week. The year five and six team made amazing rockets powered by baking soda and vinegar!
Reception and Year One went to Colfox on Friday to meet some cute, cuddly, creepy creatures AND we were visited by a fossil expert, who taught the children lots of fascinating fossil facts!

BPS Cross Country Team did an amazing job on Tuesday!
We had three Year 3/4 teams and three Year 5/6 teams taking part (amazing!), and so many of our runners finished in the top three places in their laps!
Year 3/4 Team A finished 3rd overall.
Year 3/4 Team B won their event and finished 7th overall.
Year 3/4 Team C placed 11th overall.
Year 5/6 Team A finished in 2nd place.
Year 5/6 Team B won their event and finished 4th overall.
Year 5/6 Team C came 10th overall.

Thank you to everyone who dressed up and brought in a donation for Rare Disease Day today: our children have never looked so colourful and vibrant! We are thrilled to say that we raised £128.03 for this wonderful charity.
